Dmytro Fedchyshyn received his LL.M. degree in 2011 after graduating from Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Kharkiv, Ukraine). He obtained his Ph.D. in Law in 2015 upon completing a doctoral program at the same university. In 2021, he was awarded the scientific degree of Doctor of Legal Sciences by Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Kharkiv, Ukraine).
Since 2018, Dmytro has been working in the Department of Civil Law at Zaporizhzhia National University (Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine). He served as the Principal Investigator for the scientific project of young scientists, financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, titled "Legal Provision of Food Security and Rational Land Use in Organic Production in Ukraine in the Context of European Integration" (2020–2022). Dmytro is a qualified attorney and has been a member of the Ukrainian National Bar Association since 2019.
Dmytro Fedchyshyn is an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Law, University of Aberdeen (Scotland, United Kingdom) (2022–2026). In 2024, he was a Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) (Amsterdam, Netherlands). From 2023 to 2024, he was also a Fellow of the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (Berlin, Germany).
In 2024, Dmytro joined the Chair of Food Law at the University of Bayreuth as a Mercator Fellow.
The scope of his research activities encompasses the fields of land law, agricultural law, and environmental law, with a specific focus on food security, land use, land rights, organic production, and environmental justice.
